Lendon Smith (Feed Your Body Right, p. 89) and others link these problems with either too little of one nutrient, or too much of the bad foods which some are calling anti - nutrients (too much saturated fat, trans fat, sugar, salt, etc.). Dr. Smith states: If our officials would just proscribe {denounce or forbid the use of sugar and bleached grains, health costs could be cut in half. He states, studies show that some foods can enhance problem solving abilities, increase alertness and improve mood.
